Your Sealyham Terrier needs 30 to 45 minutes of exercise daily. Brisk walks and yard play suit their moderate energy level. Captain John Edwardes created the Sealyham Terrier at his Sealyham estate in Pembrokeshire, Wales, during the mid 1800s. He wanted a fearless, compact dog that could hunt otters, foxes, and badgers alongside his pack of hounds. Edwardes crossed several terrier breeds over decades until the Sealyham type became consistent. The Kennel Club recognized the breed in 1911. The Sealyham enjoyed enormous popularity in the 1920s and 1930s, owned by celebrities including Humphrey Bogart and Alfred Hitchcock.
